Help needed to fix wooden toy!

This toy, donated by an occupational therapist, is good for visual tracking and teaching the child to get from standing to sitting and vice versa.

 

The base of this teaching aide is giving way.

Interns from IMU

It was nice to have two young ladies with us for the past 5 weeks - Janning Lai and Elaine Than. But it's sad 'cos today is their last day with us. I'm not sure if the kids will miss them more or they will be missing the kids more. Maybe, they'll go home and sob quietly......

Respite Care

This event is held once a month for children from Bridges EIP. The purpose is to give parents some time off from their special child, allowing them to use that time to bond with their other children. We recognize that parents and siblings of children with special needs do need some ‘away’ time. For the special child, it’s another opportunity to develop social, cognitive and motor skills through fun and play with other children.

Since the parents will not be around, we would need volunteers to provide one-on-one attention to help, watch over, play with and handle the kids. Do give us a call if you are interested to volunteer.

Volunteers need to come in at least 20 minutes earlier so that we can have time to brief you on what to expect of the children who come in and what to look out for and some do’s and don’ts. Be prepared to stay back to help clear and clean up and also to wait for parents to come and pick up their kids.

How you can help :-

1. Manpower – we will need about 10 to 12 people for each session (this does not include teachers/volunteers from the centre).
2. Ideas for games, craft or even simple baking for children below 6 years old.
